To complement the talents of the current team, we are looking to fill two positions – Emergency Management Advisor – Community Resilience and Regional Group Welfare Coordinator and Manager. The Emergency Management Advisor is based in Lower Hutt and the Regional Group Welfare Coordinator and Manager is based in Wellington.

Emergency Management Advisor – Community Resilience 

  • You are experienced in Community Development, Urban Planning and/or Disaster Risk Management or a related environment;
  • Enjoy working with and supporting people to realise their ideas;
  • Are experienced working in teams / building effective working relationships;
  • Possess strong facilitation, presentation and interactive skills;
  • Are positive and focused on innovative solutions
  • Possess a willingness to go the extra distance in support of team/community outcomes.

Regional Group Welfare Coordinator & Group Welfare Manager

  • You are an articulate self-starter and solutions focussed innovative individual;
  • Have practical experience in welfare services in an emergency, risk management, maintaining operational welfare readiness, capability development, relationship building and operating in high tempo operational environments;
  • Understand the emergency management environment and welfare services in readiness, response and recovery;
  • Enjoy working with and supporting people to realise their ideas and respect different ideas and perspectives;
  • Have the courage to do the right thing and the personal resilience to work autonomously within response settings;
  • Have experience in working in teams and building effective working relationships;
  • Possess strong facilitation, negotiation, presentation and advocacy  skills;
  • Have good communications skills;
  • Are positive and focused on innovative solutions; and
  • Possess a willingness and energy to go the extra distance in support of team/community outcomes which underpins all our actions and motivations.
